The CD booklet contains the lyrics of the songs; there are some minor (printing) errors that needed correction. I have typed the lyrics of song 15 myself because those in the booklet are not complete. The lyrics of the other songs were send to me by Jeff -- thanks for that.===> All lyrics on a single page (13.9 kb)
Numbers 1, 6 and 8 are instrumental.
The dialogue in song 6 is an extract from the movie "Mutiny on the Bounty":"It was like riding a cork over a waterfall, sir, and wind is not the name for what blows in your face, it's something made of iron, swings at you from the west, never changing day in and day out, with seas as high as the neigh-mast. We had life-lines rigged everywhere, sir, and there were still sixteen men washed overboard."And the spoken text of song 1 is taken from "Whale Nation" by Heathcote Williams and reads:
"Cold?"
"Three men froze in the yards, frozen stiff, sir. Couldn't get them down without cutting their fingers loose from the shrouds. I was lucky..."
From space, the planet is blue
From space, the planet is the territory
Not of humans, but of the whaleThat book also seems to have been the inspiration for song 14 (La Mer).

All in all the CD is certainly more than average and worth buying for a Sarah Brightman fan, but it is not excellent. I for one prefer both The songs that got away and Surrender, the unexpected songs by far, where Sarah sings songs from musicals.
By the way:
Bjorn Handeland wrote me that "The Second
Element" and "Captain Nemo" are sung by the Swedish singer Cecilia
Vennersten on her debut album in a Swedish translation.
