Loreena McKennitt - The Visit Revisited

In April 2022, Loreena announced in an email to the members list her return
to giving concerts:
After a three-year hiatus from touring, Loreena is gearing up to hit the road again. The tour begins with five cities in Ontario and Québec from October 1 to October 7, 2022.Aptly named The Visit Revisted, the tour commemorates the 30th anniversary of her Juno Award-winning album, The Visit.
"This album was a major landmark in my career," says Loreena, "and personally it's always so interesting and often enlightening to revisit one's early work to see how the inspiration for it has evolved."
The first set of the concert will consist entirely of songs from The Visit and performed in the order they appear on the album. The second set will include favourites from across Loreena's catalogue.
Performing as a quartet, Loreena will be accompanied by long-time musical companions Brian Hughes on guitar, Caroline Lavelle on cello and Hugh Marsh on violin.
This is Loreena's first tour since the Lost Souls Tour in 2018, which kicked off in Stratford, followed by performances in Brazil, Argentina and Chile, later taking her to Europe that spring and summer for 49 concerts, eventually wrapping up in Canada in the fall of 2019.
"In 2019, I decided to put my career on hold in order to focus on other civic matters such as climate emergency. Little did I know we were heading into a pandemic." says McKennitt.
"Even under those challenging circumstances, we were able to be involved in various initiatives and they continue still. We will be grateful to get back to touring even while keeping a foot in these subjects back home. I felt then, as I do now, that it's important to be a contributing member of one's community."
Plans are also under way for future touring, so stay tuned.
In March 2023 an email announced further concerts under the subtitle "The Next Chapter":
It's with excitement and optimism that Loreena is announcing she'll be bringing The Visit Revisited Tour: The Next Chapter to the U.S. Northeast and parts of the Midwest this October and November.The Visit Revisited Tour: The Next Chapter commemorates the 32nd anniversary of her life-altering, Juno Award-winning album, The Visit. The album was released in Canada in 1991 and internationally in 1992 as she entered into a partnership with major international record company, Warner Music Group. The Visit was the recording that propelled Loreena onto the world stage, where she has comfortably remained ever since.
Then early September 2023 an email announced concerts in Europe during spring 2024:
It's been four years since Loreena performed in Europe, but she's returning this spring, bringing The Visit Revisited Tour to ten countries for 25 performances."So much has happened since I last performed in Europe in 2019," says Loreena. "It will be glorious to return and to reconnect with the many familiar faces we've missed during these turbulent times. It feels like I've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time."
As many of you know, the tour commemorates the anniversary of her Juno Award-winning album, The Visit, released in Canada in 1991 and internationally in 1992 - the album which propelled her onto the world stage where she has comfortably stayed ever since. She'll be accompanied by long-time musical companions Caroline Lavelle on cello, Brian Hughes on guitar, Hugh Marsh on violin and Dudley Phillips on bass.

I had tickets for the concert on 6 March 2024 in Eindhoven and it was a wonderful concert!And it was a true joy to hear "The Visit" in full, in particular my favourite songs
The Lady of Shalott, Greensleeves and my all-time favourite: Courtyard Lullaby.
It was very dark in the concert hall, hence taking good pictures was
impossible; here are two attempts, before and during the concert.
