Some remarks I found at the Sony Web site with official info and some pictures (which is where I got the CD-covers from):
"Dream a Dream" is a new collection of Christmas favorites and features a duet with 12-year-old Billy Gilman. The cover portrait of Charlotte was painted by 17-year-old American painter Amanda Dunbar, just for the "Dream a Dream" album cover. Amanda and Charlotte first met on Oprah and have developed an ongoing friendship. THe two girls are donating the proceeds from sales of lithographs of the painting to charity. The "Dream a Dream" portrait was unveiled in Atlanta on September 16 [2000].
The album was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra during the summer, calling for some special measures. "We decorated the whole studio beforehand so it felt like Christmas", Charlotte recalls. "Every time I finished a song, I was allowed to take a present from the tree."
The CD-cover at the top of the page and on the left is the cover of the European release. The US-release has a slightly different CD cover, as can be seen on the right. |
