Much to my regret the profider that hosted my webpages for more than 25 years has announced that after 1 July 2026 they end the hosting service. Therefore all my web pages have been moved to another provider, which means the base URL changes from https://josvg.home.xs4all.nl/ to http://www.josvg.dds.nl/. The current page can now be found here. |
Highlights of Scotland
At the end of the story it said:
The immaculately restored buildings, the weed-free sweep of gravel, the restaurant, dram bar and audio-visual display are far removed from the centuries of grinding rural poverty. But the tourism is skillfully handled and you are still left with the impression of the small working distillery that it ever was. However; it is on a bottle of whisky liqueur that the two most lasting personalities in the history of this tiny distillery have jointly left their mark. The bottle of Fairlie's light Highland Liqueur is decorated with Towser's paw prints.See also this article at Wikipedia for the story.
For example this page at ScotchWhisky.net and this page at Whisky.com provide info on the Glenturret Distillery.
Sorry, no picture of the bottle available yet.
