Sarah Brightman - Him

[When] late at night I fall asleep
With all the lights [down dimm]
I let my mind soar up above
Go searching for the one I love

I dream all night of him
I dream all night of him

[He stays] with me the whole night through
Through space and time we swim
He loves me in a thousand ways
The nights helps me to face the days

I dream all night of him
I dream all night of him

I wait each night for sleep to arrive
[Though] darkness is when I come alive
And in the morning when I wake
The day outside looks grim
I look back on the night that's gone
It gives me strength to carry on

I dream all night of him
I dream all night of him

I never sleep alone for I [seek]
To have him with me in my dreams
[Though] every morning when I wake
The day outside looks grim
I look around and then I see
Him laying there; he's next to me

I didn't dream of him
I didn't dream of him

Music: Hubert Parry, arr. Andrew Lloyd Webber
Lyrics: Richard Stilgoe

Sarah sings this song, accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, on a single © 1983, Oiceau Productions Ltd. / 1983 Polydor Ltd. (London), number POSP 625. The song is arranged and produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Source of the lyrics: written down myself; words between square brackets are uncertain.

The front and back side of the sleeve look like this [with special thanks to Becky Wilson]:

[front] JPEG picture (21 kb) of the front
[back] JPEG picture (21 kb) of the back

The back of the sleeve has this to say about the song:

The words of 'Him' are written by Richard Stilgoe and the music is based on Hubert Parry's (1848-1918) 'Dear Lord and Father of Mankind' from the oratorio 'Judith'.

Parry is perhaps best known as the composer of 'Jerusalem'. He was director of The Royal College of Music from 1895 to 1918. All the music and performance royalties from this adaptation are being donated The Royal College of Music Centenary Appeal.

The back of the sleeve also says that the back side of the single has the song "Memory" from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Cats: the version on CD "The Andrew Lloyd Webber Collection", with the high pitch -- thanks to Sergio Salvadore for this info.
